Very cozy and very tasty food. But the tables for 2 people are just too small. There is no atmosphere.

Vacationed on the Baltic Sea at the beginning of October. We ate here in the evening, it was delicious. Plenty of choice and every dish looked great. Here the food is still prepared with love. Service was very nice. Are super satisfied. To recommend!

Myself and my wife loved this restaurant when Fred had it. But we don't want to wallow in history. Let me put it this way: I and my wife come from the trade and when we taste aids in food a no-go. Too bad. The decor and the atmosphere are totally awesome. But that's not all. Especially not for the price.

The food was reasonably priced. Strange a 30cm pizza can be in a box that is 28x28cm?

Except ordered from. Got there on time and it was still hot! Very tasty and to be recommended!

Quaint restaurant with good and inexpensive cuisine, family-friendly atmosphere. People like to go here, I can recommend them. Only the very small tables become a problem with five guests, it is then very tight when eating.

Wonderful, grill plate is highly recommended. I haven't eaten such good meat in a long time and, together with the friendly service and reasonable prices, I can only recommend it.

Really cozy restaurant, with the nicest atmosphere, the food was fast on the table and the portions were large and filled well. Staff sweet and friendly. If you are in Flensburg, it is definitely a good place to eat for dinner. A little good info: it is best if you book a table, the place is popular and the sweet waiters try as much as they can to give a place to everyone but a good recommendation is to book well in advance

Great place, quaint Atmosphere, food very good ... Staff super friendly and attentive. Seldom have we felt as comfortable in a restaurant as here. My husband and I can recommend it anytime. In times of Corona it is necessary to reserve in advance. We look forward to the next visit.

The food and service were so perfect, I'd love to leave 10 good reviews. Many thanks for the warm treatment, the fast and competent service as well as the delicious food and the good drinks. It is really rare that I write a review but dear people this restaurant is a pearl. I would recommend 100 percent. After a bad experience in another restaurant in Flensburg, I just have to express how nice it is to be treated well as a guest. We had the Jägerschnitzel, tagliatelle with scampi and penne with spinach. Everything was great and to be recommended.

I came by very spontaneously and all levers were pulled to ensure that I could still get a seat while maintaining the distance. The service from all employees was above average friendly and courteous. The food (onion soup, gyros, fried potatoes) was very tasty and left nothing to be desired. Compliance with the distance rule and hygiene measures were exemplary and everyone always communicated with a smile on their faces. If I'm on the corner again, I'll definitely come back!

The ambience is excellent and the staff totally friendly and especially fond of children. The food was great. Even the children's portions are great. Any time.

Very kind and attentive hosts. The oven potato with gyros is really recommendable. As a starter I had the shepherd's cheese and garlic bread. I would eat that again in a heartbeat. Reservation makes sense.

At the moment I only reserved a table for 18 people for my birthday. My guests and I have known the Hinkelstein for many years. We have all been there many times and we agree that we have never been disappointed by the beautiful ambience, the good food and the friendly staff. We are all happy to have a nice evening full of positive memories. 🤗👍👍👍

This restaurant is quaint and familiar and simply cozy. In addition, the food tastes very good too! 😄 The service is very friendly and attentive, you are treated as if you were an old acquaintance and just belong to it. The children get something to paint and a snack after the meal. Mine always want to go back. 😅 Dogs are also allowed. I find the price-performance ratio absolutely reasonable. You only have to know that there is no (!) Card payment possible. So have enough cash with you or get it at the nearby savings bank. 😉 Highly recommended!

A great atmosphere in which you can feel good for so many years. It is wonderfully cared for and the joy of pampering is very present and noticeable, despite the fact that places are always well visited. Not only the pizzas are very tasty, but also all other dishes and drinks deserve praise. The Altbierbowle is highly recommended ... Always my pleasure...!

Hidden gem in Flensburg. Out of the city centre, classic German food, the menu is modest, prices are low to moderate, but if I need to chose one place in Flensburg which can be described with the term "soul kitchen" (btw. one of my favourite German movies) it will be by all means Hinkelstein. My full recommendation! P.S. You can pay only with cash.

We were so pleased! Looking for tasty food with great atmosphere and this place nailed it! Had both standard schnitzel and jäger, both were very tender with terrific potatoes and fries. They gave us wine to sample before selecting one and made great suggestions. Thumbs up!

Really tasty steak which was medium cooked. Fries were ok, but tasted a bit over done. Staff were really nice and friendly! We paid 51,80 euros for two starters, two mains and two sodas. Cozy place :-)

Good food, fair price.

Hinkelstein is a sweet cosy little restaurant with a big menu of some delicious foods! The staff were great and spoke English to us when our Germany failed us. I recommend the schnitzel, it was delicious! I wanted to try some real German food and I got it here! Overall, a lovely atmosphere, great staff and delicious food :)

A lucky hit. We wanted to find a place with local food and used Google maps. But when we saw the entrance we were not sure, but luckily we went inside. Inside there is a old stylish pub/taverna atmosphere. But it looked clean and there was no "old smell" like some of this places have. The service was outstanding and the food tasty. We, two grown ups and two kids, had three different styles of schnitzel and one spaghetti Bolognese. We were all happy and it was a lot of food. When we got the bill it was just fun to pay. Small bill - great experience! This is a place you must visit if you have the possibility.

Hidden gem! Very cozy ambience, and friendly staff who speaks both German, English and Danish. Good food and beer, will come again!
